Clinical Approach

I have a flexible, eclectic approach that draws on various techniques and schools of thought. My perspective, however, is always client-centred. I function as your advocate, your support and your guide as you explore your situation and circumstances, and discover what it is that hinders you. Your version of “what’s going on” is the most important one, but I will challenge faulty logic and negative or self-deprecating statements as you begin to know and like yourself better. My hope and purpose is to help you find strength within yourself to make the changes that will bring you closer to your own goals.

A solution-focused approach can be highly effective in identifying and building on strengths, rather than giving power to “the problem”.

An existentialist framework situates you in your own life, in your times, your culture and your environment.

Cognitive-behavioural interventions can help you form constructive habits in order to reach your goals.

Body-centred techniques help you create a safe container for emotions.

The relationship between counsellor and client is more important than theoretical orientation. Once we know we are seen and heard as ourselves it becomes possible to experiment with new ways of being and to create expansion and movement in our lives.
